Welcome to My Site

This site holds my resume and includes some items from my portfolio.

I've also included a short history of my interest in gaming, including the games I like to play.

Summary of my Life

  • Graduated with a BA in Computer Science and English.
  • Ran away for a year to get my auto-mechanics certificate in a town so far north that the rivers flow toward the Arctic.
  • Interned at a hot-rod shop where mechanics cheerily smoked while pulling out gas tanks and yelling "Tabarnac!"
  • Hijacked by Microsoft for 9 years to test and write SDK and end-user documentation for IIS, ASP, and ASP.NET.
  • Finished kissing frogs and married a prince of a man.
  • Spent my honeymoon learning a kick-ass form from Shaolin monks.
  • Quit Microsoft to study computer games.
  • Ran out of money and joined the working world again to write documentation for the super-cool Microsoft product, Expression Blend. Contracting rocks!
  • Finished my Digital Gaming certificate at Bellevue College.
  • Worked on contract again for Microsoft Expression Blend 2.
  • Taught Unreal Game Design for a term at Bellevue College.
  • Worked on contract again for Microsoft Expression Blend 3. I LOVE that team! Made a Simon game and wrote an article about using timers and constructing the game in Expression Blend. Also wrote an article about how teachers might be able to use Expression Blend to create educational games and animations.
  • Tried something new and snagged a contract writing Silverlight documentation for Windows Embedded Compact. Hello, native C++, it's been a while!
  • Started working with a local artist/teacher, designing and developing a learning game called Emeralda. As an indie team of two, it's taking forever. :)  See the trailer and blog.
  • Wistful for a paycheck again, snagged a contract writing for the Microsoft Surface SDK. Love it! Sleeper casual game platform of the century!
  • Finally got my chance to enter the game industry. I'm currently working on tutorials for Torque 3D, made by GarageGames. Yahoo!!! I LOVE Torque!
